IN PERSON WORKSHOP EFL
THE ESSENTIAL FOR LIVING TREATMENT MODEL AND THE NEW PROGRAM ASSESSMENT TOOL: THE P.A.T.
Since its release in 2012 EFL has proven to be much more than just a functional curriculum and assessment: its organization, built around the Essential Eight skills and the sequence designed for effective teaching that results in the generalized and fluent acquisition of life skills for people from moderate to severe disabilities, has made it an effective Treatment Model.
In this workshop, the EFL-based Treatment Model, the recently released Teaching Manual and a new assessment tool, the P.A.T., will be presented and described for the first time in Italy with the autor.
The Program Analysis Tool (P.A.T.), an interview-informed assessment, is an indirect and global measurement tool for assessing progress.
The P.A.T. has 5 domains: (1) skill, (2) challenging behavior, (3) support, (4) health, and (5) medication.
Each item is rated on a scale of 4 (from 0 to 3) in a range of colors green-yellow-orange-red with red indicating more need/support/risk is required.
The tool was designed to provide an efficient and effective method of defining learners in manner that would be easily understood by non-clinical individuals.
